The Mermaid is a spacious first-floor apartment on the southern corner of Anglesey. This coastal retreat sits where the historic Mermaid Inn once stood - a ferry port that shuttled men and livestock between Tal y Foel and Caernarfon. The breathtaking views across the Menai Strait to Snowdonia will make your jaw drop faster than your clothes when you see the hot tub.

This peaceful spot puts you right on the beach at the end of a quiet road. It's so quiet you can actually hear the waves from the roof terrace. The large outdoor terrace is perfect for sunset drinks while watching the tide change. Fancy exploring?

The Mermaid was one of the best properties we have ever stayed in, if not, the best! ! It had everything you would want in a home away from home. Comfortable beds superb kitchen lay out, with every utensil you need beautiful bathrooms two lounges, one outside for the amazing views and a glorious hot tub! Wendy, the owner was delightful so welcoming and thoughtful, I had actually left something at the property on the day we left, and she very kindly posted it to me, I can't thank her enough! Thank you Wendy xx
Jeremy
Recently returned from our second stay at the Mermaid. The view is as enchanting as last time and the accommodation perfect for our needs as an extended family. Kids love the hot tub. Host Wendy is very obliging and responds to queries promptly. So much to do in the area this time we went up Great Orme, indoor climbing in Caenarfon, did ZipWorld FForest, Plas Newydd, Penrhyn Castle, South Stack lighthouse, boat trip to Puffin Island from Beaumaris and revisited old favourites at the Sea Zoo and Anglesey Riding Centre. Highly recommended.
Lovely spacious apartment. The owner was on hand if we needed anything. Great location, we had a very lovely stay. Would thoroughly recommend.
Deborah

The Property is in a Fantastic location, breathtaking views, and so quiet. There was a issue with the internet while we were there, which bothered the kids more than the adults but the owner did her very best to sort this issue out. We were blessed with great weather and made great use of the fabulous balcony area and hot tub. I will definitely return because there is so much more to explore in the area.

Fantastic location spotless condition. the only gripe would be that certain items on the inventory not up to scratch. two ceramic knifes missing from block.wheel broken on electric heater . tv in double bedroom not secure, the main gripe was the sliding door on the double wardrobe was only secured by the top runner this in my opinion is a disaster waiting to happen.when you have a 200 breakage fee these should be corrected. did they detract from our stay not at all. the broken kettle was replaced on the same day. fantastic holiday would stay again.
FROM THE MOMENT WE ENTERED THE APARTMENT WE FELT AT HOME. EVREYTHING WAS THERE, CLEAN AND WELCOMING. THE VIEWS ACROSS THE STRIAT ARE IMPRESIVE. THE COMPLIMENTERY PRESENTS TOPPED IT OFF. WENDY AND ALL THE PEOPLE OF ANGLESEY WERE MOST HELPFULL , FROM SHOPS TO ACTIVITY CENTRES, THE QUALITY IS EXCELLENT. WE WILL CERTIANLY BE RETURNING TO THIS WONDERFUL PART OF WALES.
We all had a fantastic holiday at the Mermaid . Fantastic views and scenery . The Mermaid was well equipped with everything you need and more .Very clean and comfortable. The weather was brilliant we all came back with tans . We will definitely be back .
Wonderful location, thoroughly enjoyed the stay in lovely accommodation. If some way could be found to provide some better drying facilities this would make life easier for those with young children we had a baby and a toddler in our party. Otherwise this is a very well equipped property and I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.
Wendy, the owner, goes above and beyond with everything. Nothing is too much trouble. This is the second time we have stayed at this property, and we've booked again for next year... Which speaks for itself. The views are unbelievable and make this such a gem.
Jeremy
Have just returned from a lovely week in Anglesey, staying at the Mermaid. The accommodation is excellent, tastefully furnished and wellequipped. The location is amazing literally on the beach at the end of a road, so very quiet and secluded. Of course the views from the balcony are to die for. Relaxing in the hot tub after climbing Snowdon, and looking back over the Menai Straits at the mountains was a highlight of the holiday. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds and pootling about on the beach. Lots of family friendly activities nearby Pili Palas, Sea Farm, Horseriding Centre, Newborough beach, crabbing on Beaumaris pier to name a few. Thanks to grandad babysitting, my partner and I were able to eat at Sosban, the Michelin starred restaurant in Menai Bridge, a treat for foodies. Loved it all so much we are coming back to stay with the Mermaid in October!
Harneet
Very nice cottage and beutiful view jacuzi is best very soon come again thank you
We loved the whole thing and would love to go Back in summer it was perfect. Only thing I would say is if travelling with small babieschildren be mindful there is big Decking steps up to the property which were steep. We had the best time. Thank you
What a view! You can hear the waves from the roof terrace. Excellent accommodation. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Perfect. The views of the sea and the Snowdonia mountain range whilst sat in the hot tub is breathtaking. Such a peaceful and quiet getaway to recharge batteries perfectly placed to get around anglesey.
Fabulous stay, great views, excellent accommodation perfect for the family, hot tub a suprr bonus.
Sandra
Lovely location and views where amazing. Beautiful apartment and so peaceful. A stroll away from Foels Farm and sea life centre. A bucket list must do.
Andrew
A fantastic place to stay, everything you need is here. The views are simply stunning, it's so quiet that if all you want to do is relax and recharge your bateries you cant find anything better.
Adrian
Lovely first floor apartment in Brynsiencyn! The hot tub terrace overlooking the Menai Straits was wonderful. The apartment itself was very clean and had everything you could need. Perfectly located for Anglesey and also Snowdonia. Great holiday, I would recommend staying here!
Bhuvaneshwari
The view from the balcony and hot tub, will definitely be back
This is a great place and fully equipped. We were a Groupon 4 and loved it.
This property has everything you could wish for the hot tub was an especially lovely touch at the end of a long walk.
The location is perfect. The views are stunning. Other properties in the area wouldn't get as good views as they are not raised up, because this is on the first floor, you can see right along the Menai Straits. The accommodation is spacious and has everything you need for a family holiday. The owner was so helpful. During our stay, the toaster broke. I called her, as it tripped the electrics. She sorted the electrics straight away and had bought and delivered a new toaster to us in hours! The only issue we encountered if you could even call it that is that we couldn't find the light switch for the main bathroom. We should've asked really, but felt a bit daft! Probably just us all being dopey. If that's the only problem on a week away, then I think you're doing well! We loved it so much that we booked for next year. Absolute perfection.
Philip
Great place with stunning views on a private balcony. Hot tub was lovely after a day of exploring.
Amanda
Perfect location enjoyed every minute
Michael

We had a really great holiday at The Mermaid. We were a little nervous as we had booked the holiday during COVID19, but we had an amazing time. The Mermaid was amazingly clean and had everything we needed. The views are amazing, hot tub brilliant. Just the quiet and relaxing break we needed. Would certainly recommend to others and will be returning soon. Thank you
Kathryn
Great location, beautiful views, excellent hot tub.
Christine
The advertising and details were accurate for the location and the accommodation. We were given a contact number for the owner in case of any problems which we have not had with previous holiday agents. When we did need to contact her she replied very quickly thank you. We would definitely recommend Sykes & The Mermaid based on our experience last week.
The apartment was well equipped and you didnt want for anything, the views were stunning and it is an ideal location for a relaxing break, but also you are not to far from towns and amenities. We were there celebarting our wedding anniversary and it was just perfect to relax and chill out, the hot tub was amazing, sitting in and just admiring the stunning views of Snowdonia & the Menai Strait
Andrea
The location and views especially from the hot tub! were stunning. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Such a wonderful retreat and space to return to after spending the day exploring the area.
Maureen
The cottage was one that we had known off from previous visits to the area and having experienced a short stay would have no problems in considering for a future stays on Anglesey. The highlight was the splendid hot tub with the best views whilst bubbling away.
A lovely property with amazing views, especially from the hot tub on the roof terrace! Owner very approachable and on on hand if assistance needed. Plenty of space for 8 people but to be aware the bunk beds are child size. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday or as a base to explore the wider area.
Was a lovely few days despite a bit of rain. Amazing location and surroundings, owners very friendly and helpful. We really look forward to staying again, great hot tub getaway.
