Is Island Hide Right For You?

Discover why this cottage is ideal for different types of visitors

For Families
Island Hide is primarily designed as an adult retreat. The single-room layout with one double bed makes it less suitable for families with children. However, older teens might enjoy the alpacas, games room with snooker table and nearby activities like Anglesey Sea Zoo and beaches. The outdoor setting and hot tub require supervision for younger visitors.
For Couples
Island Hide is perfect for couples seeking privacy and romance. The intimate shepherd's hut layout creates a cosy atmosphere, especially with the wood burner crackling on cooler evenings. Watch sunsets from your private hot tub, book a couples massage, or enjoy stargazing from the veranda. The double bed faces large windows for morning views across the wetlands.
Pet Friendly
Island Hide welcomes up to two small dogs (£20 each per week). The location is fantastic for dog owners with walking routes directly from your door across the wetlands. Nearby Newborough Beach allows dogs in designated areas year-round. The enclosed veranda provides a safe outdoor space and the surrounding countryside offers endless sniffing opportunities for four-legged visitors.

We had an amazing time at Island Hide! The location is perfect for exploring Anglesey, whether it's ziplining or hiking up Yr Wyddfa. Steve and Jo made us feel really welcome and went out of their way to be kind - especially with the lovely massage treatments. The outdoor kitchen was handy, the shepherd’s hut comfyand the hot tub a perfect way to unwind after a busy day. We’d love to return for longer soon, there's so much more to see and do! Hide

The views are absolutely breathtakingand the hosts make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The shepherd's hut is spotless and super cosy, with all the essentials. The bed’s really comfy too!
Emily
We had such a lovely, chilled time here. The setting is perfectand those adorable alpacas really help you unwind. The hosts are lovelyand the wood-fired hot tub was a real treat!
Alexandra
We had a lovely time, though it did need a proper clean and finding a plug socket was tricky since none were near the hutand that wasn’t clear when booking. Aside from that, it felt really private despite being on the propertyand the location was stunning. We'd definitely come back again!
Emma
What an incredible view! Jo was super friendly and really took the time to show us where everything was, even how to light the hot tub for maximum enjoyment. It has everything you need. The little touches like the festoon lighting and the lights above the hot tub make it feel really cosy at night! The porch is a fantastic addition that you don't get with other shepherds huts. We're already looking forward to coming back when the weather's cooler so we can explore more places with the dog! Thanks for such a lovely stay.
Max
We had one of the best stays we've enjoyed in ages. The setting is so peaceful and tranquil, just the perfect getaway. Being 6ft 4, we were a bit anxious about the size of the accommodation, but with a couple and a staffie, there was plenty of room. The views are just stunningand the alpacas, natural wildlifeand all the lovely things within 15 minutes of the accommodation made for a wonderful stay. If you're seeking an escape from a chaotic work life or just a romantic break, it's definitely the one!
James
This place is truly magical! The hut is beautiful, the views are simply amazingand the hot tub is lovely. Jo and Steve are really friendly and helpful, plus it feels super private. It’s fully stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. We would absolutely recommend giving this place a try!
Lucy
We really enjoyed our stay at the Island Hide Shepherds Hut! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom facilities were lovely and clean, plus there was loads of hot water. The beaches nearby were beautifuland we really liked spending our evenings by the log fires outside, especially with the hot tub too. We were lucky with the weather and just found it so easy to relax and enjoy being off-grid - didn't even know Boris had resgined until we got back! Big thanks to Jo for being so helpful and kind. It felt very safe for our dog.
Simon
We really loved our trip to the Island! The shepherd's hut was great, so compact and cosy with everything we needed to just get away from it all. The views were absolutely stunningand we enjoyed them from the veranda or the hot tub. Just a heads-up, the hot tub does take a while to heat up, so keep an eye on the fire and make sure it's roaring away to get it nice and toasty. The location is perfect for exploring the areaand it’s a short hop onto the mainland if you're looking to venture outside Anglesey.
Emma
We had a wonderful stay! The weather was just right. It's definitely more of a spring or summer getaway. Using the hot tub at night with those views was just perfect. The en-suite was great too. We think adding an electrical socket in the main bedroom would be beneficial. Overall, we had a lovely time!
Elena
We honestly can’t find the right words to describe how fantastic our stay was! Jo and Steve are truly the best hosts we’ve ever had. The place itself is breathtakingly romantic with a stunning view. It’s so cozy and secludedand all the little details really made it our favourite spot to escape from the everyday stress. We can't wait to come back soon. Huge thanks to both of you for such an amazing time.
Lola
My partner and I just spent some time here for his 30th birthdayand the hut was absolutely fantastic! It had everything we needed, plus those stunning views. The owners were super welcoming and really helpful, they couldn't do enough for us! The hot tub was lovely, even though it took longer to heat up than expected, but honestly, it was worth the wait! We would definitly come back and recommend it to friends!
Emma
This is such a lovely place to stay! Everything is done to a really high standard and the place is very well equipped. The views are stunning and there are loads of options for somewhere to sit and unwind, including a hammock. The hot tub was absolutely fantasticand we didn’t mind waiting a bit for it to heat up! Our hosts were super friendly and helpful, but they also respected our privacy, which was perfect for enjoying the relaxing peace of our long-awaited child-free weekend.
