Rhiangwyn Cottage Reviews

Property was not clean, fixtures and fittings were broken and needing repair. .. save your holiday and don't book! Still awaiting a response from Sykes to try and come to an amicable resolution...
The cottage was excellent. Everything was well presented would definitely book again.
Whole cottage needs work doing, too many not good things to list which is a shame because it could be a lovely cottage but in its present state its just not.
Amazing stay in a lovely place. Well worth a visit. Cottage was fantastic and hottub perfect. Definitely worth a visit to relax and get away from the real world.

We stayed at Rhiangwyn cottage over new year. The cottage is a good size and the kitchen has everything you need. The bedrooms upstairs are lovely. Unfortunately we couldn't use the shower for the last few days as the cable box started smoking quite aggressively so we had to turn it off at the fuse box we did report this and the house manager made sure we were OK with the bath. There is also seems to be a woodlouse problem, there were dozens of them downstairs and quite a lot of dead ones under furniture and behind the TV stand. The back door of the property doesn't close properly so the hall is always freezing cold meaning we had to have the heating on frequently. The mattresses could really do with toppers and the one downstairs needed to be flipped as stated on the label as it was dipping but was better when turned over and a topper was added ourselves. The mattress upstairs is extremely loud. We were also left with the wrong greeting booklet for the house next door so we didn't really have much information about hot tub maintenance etc. I think with some maintenance this property would be really lovely but we are a bit disappointed overall

The cottage is lovely and welcoming , we stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed it plus that the hot tub was he main attraction for our son . If you're looking for a place where you can hear the silence than book this cottage . LIio was always only one phone call away ,she is so lovely and to every enquiry I had she replied straight away, now if you're looking for 5 hotels don't go there as you obviously have to clean after yourself, yes you have to wash your cups for your next use ...BUT if you're looking for silence, village atmosphere, nice walks and 5 mins by car to the nearest beach than THIS is the place We really enjoyed being there for Christmas and we'll definitely be back in the summer
Our findings were that the property was adequate to have a really great stay. From walking in to getting use to the working of the property We were really happy. Look and you will find any slight blemish but hey we are on holiday so get on with it. All items needed were there it was well equipped. The furniture was very comfy. The bed was really nice and a good nights sleep was achieved for our next day of adventure. The shower and washing facilities were first rate and looked fairly new. Hot tub was there if needed I used it once more for curiosity I liked it. Had a couple of bad stormy nights so had trouble with I T V television programmes. Bbc was great. All clean linen and towels and bedding. All in all no problems a great holiday was had in Anglesey what a great Cottage. Thank you the owner Llio and also great communications.

The cottage is tired and smelt strongly of dog wee both inside and outside on the decking. We moved the rug which stank, and the floor underneath was filthy. The bedroom floors were filthy under the beds. The WiFi was mainly nonexistent, and having contacted the number we had, who told me she was the cleaner, and been told to reboot and keep rebooting, we gave up after 2 days. The lights upstairs in the bedrooms and the heaters were all switched on when we arrived. The kitchen was well equipped though the oven was disgusting so we did not use it. Would not stay again or recommend it to others. Neighbour told me that many visitors this summer told her how it was not cleaned properly. We only had one large towel each and one hand towel in the bathroom. No floor mat.

Absolutely loved it here, as always! I noticed the upstairs bedrooms have new beds too. It was clean throughout, there were towels on each bed on arrival and the beds were made. We even had a little welcome pack on the table waiting a short car journey away from a beach, not too far away at all. The hot tub was actually warm and ready to use when we got there! Kids loved it.. ha The only thing I personally wasn't keen on, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the cottage or the owner, the spiders are absolutely huge!!! I nearly cried
We had some issues which in part were delt with within 12 hours the bedrooms upstairs were lovely to walk into but as privious reviews from other people who have stayed the mattress in both double beds desperately need changing sharp springs and ones that sound rusty and scrap together with a high pitched noise which woke you every time you moved . The attention to detain is lacking with cleanliness dust cobwebs on all the downstairs door frames and pictures the rug in the living room was the gift that just kept giving lots of nice and not so nice treasures came out of it there was chewing gum everywhere in the rug under the edges of the table down the side of the sofa under the edge of the sofa . There was mold in the shower corner needs real attention and tge flooring at the door way going in sinks and needs repairing . The back yard was an issue all you can smell was dog wee and the smell of the oil tanks , there is a hot tub which is a nice touch but you couldn't sit out in it with the smell it did pour down on the Saturday night which which took alot of the dog smell away but still the smell of the tank . Unfortunately due to the lack of sleep me my husband and daughter can home on the Wednesday evening my in laws did stay on till Friday morning but they had a much better sleep in the single beds . It can be so much more it does need updating even matching furniture in the living room needs some paint work touching up the kitchen has everything you will need . It its really windy the window frames howl they just need re sealing . And please dial down the wall art and vases with artificial flowers they really arnt needed and the metal art work are just dust collectors . The leaflets on the table need updating some were there from 2017 since then places have closed and prices have changed updating . Unfortunately by leaving the property early would speak volumes if we had a great night's sleep and the smells outside wouldn't of been there we probably would of just over looked all the other bits and just passed them off as things just missed , please take on board what customers are saying we can't all be wrong oh and please have a separate hoover to leave in for people to use as the one under the stairs was left full and smelt terrible .

We had a very enjoyable stay at Rhiangwyn Cottage and found it well equipped and in a quiet and peaceful location. The hot tub was very much appreciated. The only down side was the comfort of the two double beds and we suspect that the mattresses may need renewing. We appreciate that bed preferences vary but we found the mattresses didnt provide us with a comfortable sleep.

We had a lovely weekend away here for my sons birthday. It has a very comfy, family feel to it. Reading past reviews I suppose you could say it was a little dated but didnt make any difference to us we didnt book a 5 star hotel so didnt expect one. It was in a lovely surrounding area, local amenities were all within a reasonably close distance, gorgeous scenic walks, beds were very comfy, everything you needed in the kitchen utensils, pans etc and even a microwave and a dishwasher! No issues with the tele and couches were comfy. I like the fact its quite open plan downstairs so whoever was in the kitchen still felt part of anything going on. Hot tub was a perfect addition! Loved being out there, especially in the dark colder weather. Everything was clean and tidy and it was exactly what we ordered. Will be looking to book again.
This is a really nice and quiet cottage to stay if you just want to relax in the hot tub or enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back soon .
Very relaxing very quiet. Had a lovely stay for the second time .
This is a lovely cottage I enjoyed everything about it . Very comfortable and relaxing I would of loved to stay longer and i didn't want to go home . Very highly recommend it to anyone wanting a nice quiet holiday in a very nice cottage.

A little tired and needs improvements Kitchen dishwasher wheel missing on ... A little tired and needs improvements Kitchen dishwasher wheel missing on bottom draw, although it still works Living room window lock completely missing from handle, couch could do with a steam wash as stains over cushions, fire heater didnt work although heaters in house did and was very warm, curtain pole looked a bit iffy but worked Bathroom floor needs attention as dips by toilet, shower mould in corners, needs a grout over Bedrooms mattresses not good, general paint job needed Outside decking bit slippy when wet general sign to point this out would be useful, drain hanging off bad weather May have caused this, general tidy up of area bits of wood missing, repaint would sort this out On a positive note very quiet location perfect if you are after peace , this is a good place and if improvements done would be even better
Most facilities are good, however the bathroom needs an update. The floor feels like it is going to give way and there is a lot of mould in the bathroom. The front door is a little worrying as it looks like someone has tried to break in. Hot tub
We have been here several times very cozy and homely. Think the bed in the downstairs bedroom bedmattress needs to be replaced not as comfy as it used to be. Relaxing weekend. Thank you Lola.
Andrew
The property was lovely. Great location for exploring the island. The hot tub was a massive bonus and was lovely to relax in after a day on the beach. Really enjoyed ourselves. The owner was very helpful. We will definitely be returning
Archie
Lovely cottage and lovely modern garden with great view and a hot tub
Overall it was nice and we had a great time. The hot tub was easily the highlight of the property, but the bathroom let it down and really needs to be completely renovated. Location was a bonus with lovely beaches and walks near by.
Wonderful communication from owner, hot tub hot and ready on arrival. Freshly cleaned cottage and nice welcome touches. Sheep and cows on the back of the property, was cute hearing and watching the lambs playing. Wonderful sunset over the hills to the rear. Thank you!
Lovely cottage very clean . Nice welcome bottle of wine and welsh cakes . We used king size bed which was very comfortable . Hot tub nice, however during our stay motor broke so we could not use jets on it however still nice to soak in after days spent walking . Cottage would benefit from a power shower and a new oven . Overall well placed to get around island , lots of free parking and good value for money .
Cottage was lovely. Hot tub great. Lilo contacted us to check all was OK which was nice of her. I asked for extra towels and these were provided straight away. Couldnt ask for better service. Will definitely be back and would recommend Sykes.
Anthony
Very nice quiet little house. Hot tub was great very private. Comfortable beds. Bathroom could do with upgrading
The cottage is in an ideal location for accessing anywhere on Anglesey & the hot tub is an added bonus. The owner contacted us several times to check things were ok which was a really nice touch, as was the wine & scones on arrival. We used double bedroom upstairs which was lovely with double aspect windows & the bed was king size & very comfortable. It is coming towards the end of the season & the cottage does need some work in places but we had a great week & were blessed with good weather. Thank you
Holiday and location was amazing. House could do with a little work. But Barr that was amazing. Hot tub best around could empty refill and warm up in a night. Everything u could need The list of nice locations made the Holiday. All worth a visit. The black lion best food around Would also recommend marine lake in rhyl Little trip but the best around for crabbing
Rachel
Lovely cottage very helpful owner. Lovely area plenty places nearby to explore. Hot tub and dishwasher were a bonus. Everything went brilliant and any problems we did have the owner was only a text away
